Created in 1496, it displays the signs of the zodiac and phases of the moon. The two bronze "moors", who strike the hours, were made at the Arsenale. The clock mechanism was made by craftsmen Paolo and Carlo Ranieri. Legend goes that they were blinded to prevent them recreating the same work in another city |
